Choptank was present on the site of Hurricane Katrina. Our trucks were outfitted with a medical unit to provide assistance to the injured.

A Valentine's Day Drive for the Troops sent items to our deployed men and women in Iraq.

Choptank Vice President, Steve Covey, and Marketing Manager, Kate Bernardi, helped to educate local campers at the YMCA about the importance of transportation in America.

Choptank employees participate every year in the local parade to kick off the summer carnival. This year we got 2nd place!!!!

Choptank Transport and Habitat for Humanity have an ongoing beneficial relationship. We once helped them transport large truckloads of donated goods to their handyman sale!

Our founder is an active member of The Lion's Club, which helps put on the carnival (all proceeds benefit the Fire Department). We run the Bingo Booth and bring extra prizes to increase participation!

Chops! The Chesapeake Bay Retreiver

August 3, 2010

The Choptank Transport mascot finally has a name. His name is Chops! You’ll likely see him at company picnics and parties, community fairs and other social events. Chops if very gregarious and loves to be in the public eye.  You may see him at the Waterfowl Festival in Easton in November.  I wonder if he’ll be chasing that silly goose?

New Mascot for Choptank Transport Needs a Name!

June 16, 2010

Choptank Transport has a new employee.  He is about 6′4″ tall and has brown fluffy ears and a long, swinging tail. He is Choptank Transport’s new Chesapeake Bay Retriever mascot!

Our furry friend made his debut at the Preston Parade last evening, June 15th at 7:00 p.m.  to the delight of cheering toddlers lining the streets. All the kids were shouting, “Hi doggie! Wave to me, doggie!”  The poor pooch needs a name other than “Doggie.”

Some of the ideas bouncing around the office are Chopper, Chessie, Preston, Chopstix, Axle, Bandit, Chip and Lumper. By the end of this week, our mascot will be given a name and will become a prominent figure at company picnics and sponsored events. You never know, he may even show up wandering the Waterfowl Festival crowds, chasing that big stuffed goose!
